Backs
 The back of the corners. Most have tabs extending from the front part and wrapping around the edge of the book. They need to be crimped to secure them in place. The large, fancy one has more well-defined edges and back planes. It needs to be used on covers that are a bit thinner.
Click the small image to see a vastly enlarged one that shows the details of the back better, using Triangle Corners as an example. In that picture, the one on the right shows the front. The middle one is the back. The one on the left shows the back with a piece of cardboard slipped into the corner. I can't seem to get it to stay while I scan it, so it's only part way in. In normal use, the cover would fit all the way up into the corner of the corner and look like the image on this page.
To add one to a cover, you slip it on and then crimp the back pieces of metal so they dig into the back of the cover and hold the corner on. You would want to protect the metal from whatever tool you used for crimping by wrapping a piece of cloth around it.
